How do open a trade account?

The quickest way is to send an email to sales@chapmangroup.co.uk requesting a trade account application form. We require your name, company name, registered address, telephone number, Company Reg, VAT and EORI number. One of sales team will respond and once your account is opened we can then proceed with your order.

What is an EORI number and why is it required in Europe?.

The Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number is required for customs purposes. To export Swatch Cards, Sample Lengths or Fabric Rolls to any EU destination, EU customs require us to provide the receivers EORI number. We cannot despatch any products to any EU business or stipulated 3rd party EU destination without the destination parties EORI and VAT number.  

How do I find information on prices and shipping costs.

Prices are determined by quantity and can be advised via phone or email, our sales team are happy to discuss and guide you through the purchasing process. All prices exclude VAT and carriage, there is also a minimum £17 carriage charge within the UK. We can also provide shipping quotes to any worldwide destination, however should you wish to ship goods through your own preferred carrier we are happy to securely pack and prepare goods for collection.  

How many swatches can I order?

You can order 5 shade cards or 5 colour cuttings though the MY SWATCHES tab on the website. If you require a wider range of fabrics or guidance with your selection please email your enquiry to sales@chapmangroup.co.uk or contact our sales team on +44(0)1706 815121. Shade cards or swatches are normally despatched within 48 hours. Shade cards or colour swatches sent to UK customers will be posted through Royal Mail. Shade cards and colour swatches despatched outside the UK will be via Courier however we can only despatch to EU customers on receipt of an EORI or VAT number.

Do our fabrics perform?

All fabrics are tested at accredited UK testing houses to Worldwide Apparel standards, we also have our own In-house testing department. All bulk fabric is inspected by our Q & A to maintain the highest standards for quality, performance and colour continuity.

Do we use Organic Yarns or Recycle

We produce the worlds finest Corduroy and Moleskin, currently Organic and Recycled yarns cannot meet the high standards our customers demand some of our existing products. Our reputation has been built on decades of repeatable performance and all our fabrics are still lovingly produced to last a lifetime. Clothing should not be a throw-away commodity, we fully understand the requirement for Sustainability and updates on new Organic and Sustainable products will be released through our website and Instagram account.

What is Oeko-tex?

We are proud to be accredited to Standard 100 by Oeko-tex, Standard 100 by Oeko-tex certification ensures that our manufacturing processes meet the highest sustainable, socially responsible and ecological production standards. All our fabrics have been tested for harmful substances and are safe from a human ecological perspective, therefore harmless for human health.

Do we sell direct to the public?

We are happy to work with students and actively encourage start-up business’s. We accept payment by Debit or Credit Card, BACS or Bank Transfer, only when payment has cleared do we process the final order and prepare goods for despatch. All sample orders are hand cut in the traditional manner, we ship all fabric on 150cm rolls using recycled polythene packaging to protect and secure your shipment. Orders are normally despatched within 3 days after payment has been received, however seasonal delays do occur so its worth asking at time of order.

Are all colour shades available throughout the range of fabrics.

No, each product has a specific range of colours that have been carefully selected to fit the products end use and seasonal timing. Our colour range has been put together using over 150 years of product knowledge and dyeing expertise. We also dye to customer specific colours, the MOQ requirements for your own colour starts at 500 meters and surcharges apply.

Is Moleskin made from Moles?

Moleskin fabric is woven using 100% Cotton, it is dyed and then heavily brushed and cropped to give a smooth soft handle similar to the skin of a mole.
